The Ratta Muffin Reskue Krew located in New Jersey, rescued a total of 168 animals including 151 ratties, 8 bunnies, 4 spiny mice and 5 oscar fish. These animals were living in filthy conditions, hoarded together in small cages infested with bugs and no food or water. Our rescue team of 10 people along with the local police, the Department of Health and animal control aided us in removing and caring for these animals. The house they were in was condemed.
Thank you to all of you that have opened your hearts and homes to these animals in need. We have compiled a list of the available animals from this rescue. There are some ratties available but not listed because they are under the care of our Vet for some medical issues and being medicated. So we give you the list...................

Special thanks to those of you that have fostered, donated and adopted. We received a large amount of cages, but we are still in need of Carefresh bedding and food donations. As we mentioned earlier, all of the rescues are being treated with Doxycycline as a precaution. The ones with Myco, (not on this list) are being treated with Baytril, Doxy, Cefa Drops.....and there are also 2 ratties with severe mange that we are treating with Ivermectin. We have taken the sick rescues to see our vet and are under her & our care. All of the medical expenses on these ratties are out-of-pocket, we gladly accept donations to help pay for their medical care, but we will pay whatever it takes ourselves to make them better.
All of the rats are doing much better, besides a few that will need extensive vet care and one that requires hospitalization. We will do everything we can and more to give these ratties what they need and deserve...... <3

Are you involved with any transport groups, or able to transport the rats out of state?

Hi,
We are not involved with any transport groups. We have recently transported to New Hampshire ourselves and if the destination is too far to drive we do ship.

Hello, I read about the rats and would love to adopt any female rex you have. I live in Decatur IL and would like to know how much it would cost me to have it shipped. Where I live there isn't a rescue for rats if there is I haven't found them to let them know I am here to help find good homes. I myself are wanting to keep a female rex. I've been looking foe black but with as many as you need to find good homes for I want to just help. I have some rats of my own and their very friendly. Their part of the family. They are able to get out of their cages at night and play. Males and female are kept apart.
Please let me know how I can help. Tosend donation where would I send it? Thank You, Pilar
