Worms and other questions.

THis morning I found a itty bitty worm in the corner of my crabitat. Could someone tell me what this is? Is it harmful?

Also, I found this piece of stuff that looked like part of an exoskeleton or something. Do they molt in parts? Or just in one big molt?

Also also, my hermit crabs don't seem to be eating. At first I had just Hermit Crab Food in their food dish, then I put some lettuce and peanut butter and Hermit Crab Food in it. (This lady who has hermit crabs said to do that) But they dont seem to be eating. How much do they eat? Like does the food stay in there awhile? Or is it all gone fast? I have two crabs btw.

hmm I've never heard of worms before. Are you sure it was alive..becuae it could have been hermy poop.

What I would do is shift the sand using a sifter and then clean the sand. YOu should probably cook it too either azp it in the microwave for 30 seconds or so or put in in the oven for a few minutes just to kill any bacteria that might be there.
Hermit crabs have one big molt but it's not unusual for them to get scraps or nics in their Exo.

Hermit crabs eat very little my four hardly eat a thing. Don't worry if they get really hungery they'll eat. Don't leave old food around for too long because it will get mouldy.

No it wasn't alive. I don't think it was hermy poop, it looked like a minny worm. This is dumb, but could someone post a pic of hermy poo?

Crabs are nocturnal and don't eat much at all. Make sure the food is fresh every other day.

The molt all at once, make sure your crab has not lost a limb from stress.

Well the poop wasn't brown, it was the color of a worm. And I punctured it with a toothpick, and I think I found a heart ^^;

Oh and don't worry, I'm babysitting a rabbit and when I get payed, I'm buying a ten gallon tank!

Okay I've never heard of hermit crabs with worms! What else is in the tank? There isn't any rotting food that might have maggots??? Are you using sand? If so I suggest you bake it in case there are more parasites in it!

Well, I've found a few more, and I think it is poop. I'm using Calci Sand, and I change the food every day or every other day.

pretty sure poop is brown... not sure what else would make it change colors?
