My dad his sister and her husband and myself are all living togeather. We are fish aholics um let me see what tanks we have.... Oh yea 1 2gal tank 2 5gal tanks, 2 10gal tanks, 1 29gal tank and 1 55gal, tank. I am saving my money for a 180gal, tank for my Osphernimse Gourmie (Sp both?). Oh anyway about my aunt. We are all LOVE bettas and if we can we have one in each tank. Well my aunt got a new betta because she thought the one in her 10gal died (she has lots of plants and hidding places). She put the new one in and a week later saw the old one. Both are living nicley togeather and don't fight. The older one no longer has fins because the betta condo that she used to have slipped under the water and all 4 bettas at the time got out. So he stays in hidding exsept for feeding time and then comes out and when he is done goes back to hiding.
Cool huh?

THAT'S REALLY COOL. BUT YOU PRETTY MUCH ANSWERED YOUR OWN QUESTION. YOU SAID THAT THE OLD ONE DOESNT' HAVE THE LARGE FLASHY FINS... TWO THINGS GO IN AFFECT THERE. HE DOESN'T HAVE THE FINS TO TAUNT THE NEW BETTA. PLUS, BECAUSE HE HAS NO FINS, IT SOUNDS LIKE HE LOST THE FOUR-FOR-ALL FIGHT...MEANING IT'S NOT LIKELY FOR HIM TO ATTACK THE NEW ONE.
THE SIZE OF THE TANK AND THE SURPLUS OF HIDING PLACES ALSO MAKES IT MORE LIKELY FOR TWO MALE BETTAS TO COEXIST. THEY ARE TERRITORIAL AND IF THEY HAVE THEIR OWN TERRITORY..STAYING OUT OF EACH OTHERS'...THEN THEY SHOULD BE FINE!

Yep I was pretty sure thats what that was. He is still pretty just has short ragged fins. Of course the new one has really LONG and wonderful fins.
