Do any of you who live in the US live in or near Wisconsin?!
There is a resuce case at the Humane Society in Green Bay that I cannot take on myself, but breaks my heart.
There is an 8 month old large female PEW in a TEN gallon tank with no toys to play with, pine bedding, and gets hardly any attention at all.
I told one of the ladies responsible for the small animal areas that the pine bedding is not good to have in rat cages, and she changed it, so one problem is gone. She is way too large to be in a ten gallon tank and the lady told me that she only gets taken out and interacted with for about 5 minutes a day when the cage is being cleaned out. She has been in there since October 19th and I was told that I was the first person to look at her in a month. It broke my heart. I wanted to adopt her and take her away from there immediately, but unfortunitely I have two males and would not have the room to house another cage at the moment. Also my father is not happy with the ones I have now, and would probably kick me out if I got another. I tried to get a friend of mine to take her and she is not able to either because of her having 3 cats that are fierce mousers. I do not know anyone else who likes/would like to have a rat so I am helpless beyond this point. You guys are my last hope. I have not seen or heard of anyone being from this area, but I thought maybe if someone had the money and/or heart to save this poor little girl there would be some way to save her. I would be ever so greatful, and I'm sure she would be also. Please let me know if any of you are interested, and I will help as much as I can. Adoptions are only $6 for rats and I think she is well worth that and the cost of more things to take care of her and keep her happy. Thanks for reading this, I hope someone can help.
