Hammie drinking her own pee....

What should I do??? Here is the deal...my hammie, Shelby is diabetic. So now she is on a high fiber diet. But now I guess she wants sugar so much...that she is drinking her own pee. :( I guess because it's sweet. Does anyone else has the same problem??? Please help me!!!

lol, that's funny in a way. It's happened to my first hamster, though maybe her situation was a bit different. My hamster used to pee, and then lick it as soon as it came out! It was gross x.x

Maybe you should stop the diet for a while, and see if that works. Then start the diet again, that way the 'pee drinking' won't become a habit! For my old Hammy, as soon as she started drinking her pee, I stopped her and gave her a flick on the nose. Then I got a tissue paper and wiped her clean, soon she stopped! To my relief! lol
