Tutie my Syrian hass been actign strange the past day or tow. Might be nothing but wanted to ask.

1) She is not drinkign her water as much as normal. Seems like her water consumption has gone way down. I have been giving her some mealworms so that could be part of it but I am nto sure.

2) Last night I have her the wheel for like a half hour and she ran her heart out. But I remove it cause I do not want her to get additcted. When I did she hid in the conner and was not active at all. She was nto trying to escape and climbing around liek normal.

I had jsut cleaned the cage and took out her house and what not but she jsut sat there. I thought at first she was depressed cause the wheel was gone. So i put her house back in. She immediatly when into it and stayed there the rest of the night.

After about 10 mins or so I lifted the house and saw she had pooped about 7-8 turds of poop in her house. I jsut found it strange. Any ideas on what is going on?

Oh and she was licking herself a lot too and even licking so much that wet spots were left on her sides. Looked like baldign but it was just cause it was wet. It went away after she dried out.

Give her the wheel back. They love their wheels and also need the exercise, the wheel is necessary to the physical and mental health of your hamster. Give her the wheel back and apologise to her and if your very lucky she may forgive you

Half an hour of continuous wheel play is okay, if it were the entire night then you would've needed to take it away. My old hamster played on his wheel for around 2 hours, and he did get addicted to it. Then I just took it away for 2 nights and he returned back to normal. Many hamsters do all their 'relieving' at night, and that much poop in one night is okay. Maybe you should cut down on the mealworm a little though. That might help.
