Hamster banging his water bottle against cage

My hamster October has been banging his water bottle against his cage and it's really annoying! I'm not sure why he's doing this... any ideas? The bottle works-- I've seen bubbles coming up when he drinks. He seems to just be trying to chew on it (it's a round Lixit so there's no corners) Any ideas how to stop this? Thanks :)

I am having the same problem with a few of mine. The problem is it causes the water to leak out getting the bedding wet.

Solutions?

1. Tie it down with some metal wire.
2. Get one of those bottles that fits in a metal sleeve and is held tight.

I will have to try the first option tonight, or switch the bottle with one who doesn't bang, one who has a bottle in a metal sleeve.

Thanks :) Another thing I thought of was to use velcro (I used it on one of my previous water bottles.) except it would be kind of annoying to clean...
