Myself and my 12 year old are looking for an older pup or dog that is good with family but less inclined towards strangers. I came back from being gone a short time this weekend to discover that someone had been in our house. We do have two dogs we dearly love (they wont be going anywhere) but would like to find a dog with a more "A" type personality.( I have experience, thats not a problem.) I am not super particular about breed, a mixed breed would be just fine if he/she fit what we wanted. I do think medium to large would be best. Being a single mom I cant afford much in way of buying a dog(if someone would be willing to work with me on that, it would help a great deal) and transport might be a issue. However, I CAN give a dog a decent home as a family member, have the time to spend as I work from home so he/she would rarely have to be left alone, I also have access to a great veterinarian.( Family) We live in a old house on the edge of a small town with a fenced in back yard. My youngest child I have at home is kind and responsible. She had been wanting one of the hunting breeds but because of this weekend we sat down, discussed and revised. I am just hoping there is a dog out there that needs us as much as we need him or her. I am not one for checking boards often so the best thing is to e-mail me privately. Thanks so much.
