My husband and I recieved our first herp as a rescue from a guy my husband met at Petsmart. He and his wife had a child 9 days earlier and had an Iguana they didn't want anymore. To get the whole story my husband found out that this Iggy was being kept on thier back porch in March and had been there for 3 weeks without heat or food.We insisted we have it even though we knew nothing of reptiles at that time.So my husband brought the Iggy home and we found it had a broken off tail, was very under weight, and had eaten its finger nails to keep alive. It took until about 1 year ago to get it to not jerk away when you would try to pet it.Today his name is Boris and he is a for sure male.He eats fresh grown greens, veggies, and fruits in the spring thru fall months and store bought in the winter.I am hoping to be able to build a green house to grow all our animals food year round. We currently have 50+ different animals and reptiles and 16 or so aquariums. We do have a vet for emergancies but we like to keep it just that way due to things don't always add up in time for the animal and add up too fast for us without always having the animal to return home with. There are only 2 we know of in our area SC?.We have a 4 bedroom house and get our boys on some weekends(its that law that allows you to have a child but when you get divorced you seem to loose your parental rights). My new husband and I have been together for 4 years and in June of this year we married. We have lots of room to house our adoptions and rescues and our 2 boys (9 & 11)love them too.
What we will take in:
(tortiose/turtles/monitors/iguanas/dragons/fish/anoles/frogs/hedgehogs/sugargliders/chinchillas/rabbits/hamsters/degus/ANY breed birds/ect.)We can also accept Horses if trailored to our location as we do have a Barn and stables. Please reply if your snakes are a large breed as we have animals who are weary of some larger breeds(food chain issues)We also can not accept CATS as they are not made to feel comfortable with this many large breed reptiles. We custom build each habitat to fit each animals needs(we have pics). Our animals do not spend ANY time in the cold.We are not dealers. We are not making any profit on these animals as we DO NOT and CAN NOT PURCHASE ANIMALS as a rule to our non-profit program.ALL OF OUR ANIMALS ARE TAKEN CARE OF OFF THE DONATIONS WE RECIEVE AND OUR PERSONAL INCOME AND SKILLS.We love animals and this is our hobby. My husband and I have alot of knowledge of the animals we keep.If you have an animal who needs a better life reply to us and we will gladly answer ANY questions you need.We are located in Upstate SC and can arrange pick up or meet to pick up if in close areas(NC/SC/GA).We are willing to travel to meet in some cases where there are substancial donations being made or rescues needed. We are currently taking donations to help with rescued and adopted reptiles and animals.
