Six total. Three males, three females. One of the males is blind. They need someone who can give them a better home than I can. I thought I could handle all of them, but obviously I can't. I want to give them to someone who will love and care for them. They come with their cage, food, and all the other stuff. You can take one group or both. Please let me know if you or someone you know would like them. My email is amymlc@email.arizona.edu
I currently live in a dorm, so they are here against the rules and I am afraid they might take them from me if they are found...and living under a bed can't be all that great. I don't have any family to send them too either...so please get back to me if you would like some awesome gerbils!!

I am so sorry that I live so far from you, I am in Oregon. Or I would have taken them all. I know that there are some states where you cannot own gerbils. I hope that you are not in one of them. You might try talking to a nice pet store, and putting up an add on any of their buliten boards. I know that we have a feed store that helps to find home for pets in your situation and you may find one somewhere close to you. Let us know if you find them a home, Good luck, Marianne

thanks, they really are good gerbils.....and very cute!! I just wish there was a way to ship them...all the people who want them live so far away. I really need to find them a good home before my RA sees them and takes them from me. I don't know if they are illegal here....I don't think so, but they are illegal in my dorm that's for sure. My friend suggested taking them to a petshop, but I don't like how they live in petshops, and I don't want them to be split up after living together for so long. One of them is blind. They were orignially my friends who was going to feed them to a snake, but I took them....I can't give them the right amount of attention or love they deserve with my school schedule. PLease if you know of anyone.......
Thanks.

I can understand your being warry of pet shops. The thing is that you do not have a lot of time, it sounds like you feel that they could be discovered any moment. What would happen to them if they were? They could be taken to an animal shelter where the blind one would be put to sleep for sure. I have read the stories of terrible pet stores, and I know that there are many of those kind out there. But there are good ones. And even if they could not help you they might know of someone in the area who does animal rescue as I do here. They may also have a buliten board where you could advertise for a home for them. It might be worth a try. I am not sure how easy it is going to be to find a home that is willing to take all 6, so more than likely they will have to be split up. As long as they have loving responsible homes they will be ok. It is so tough some times. I know I usualy have at least one looking for a home myself. I sometimes get in animals that I would not normaly want to own but I do not want them to wind up dead after having been a good pet for someone for so long. I have an elderly hamster that came to my home last week. I will be completely honest..the reason he shall live here at my home is that I dont think he can be placed in a home and he is a sweet old man. Good luck with finding a home. I shall pray that you find them a great home together. Marianne

Thank you so much for your reply and kind words. I took these animals from a friend so they didn't become snake food, but I feel really bad now. I have seperated the males and females so they do not have to go together....just in groups of three. I have called around, but I don't want them to end up with just anyway, but I don't want to have to give them up to my RA in my dorm. They will end up being snake food for sure....and the blind one (which I love) will definately be put to sleep or fed to something if I take them to a shelter. All the gerbil and rodent rescues are so far away from me. Well, thanks for your kind words. I could ask my friend Amy (who's user name I am using) to take them, but I don't know...she already has turtles and guinea pigs....and she lives in a tiny apartment. Thanks again!

Hi! My name is Peri Craig. I run CFAR (Cavy, Feline & Avian Rescue) in Gilbert, AZ. (neighbor to Tempe, Chandler & Mesa). I'd be happy to help you out with your gerbils, and can guarantee them a permanent home. We have an Adoption Application / Adoption Contract process for those interested in adopting our rescues. Please give me a call (480-632-6058) or E-mail (pbird1957@msn.com) (CFAR1@lycos.com) so we can save these guys (and girls) from the dorm monitors & get them some light & air.
