Hamster Potty Training

I Had some extra cash today, and decided to buy my dwarf hamster an early Christmas present, a brand-spanking new Outhouse! It doesnt take up any room, because it connects to my crittertrail cage. I just have a few questions on potty-training a hamster...

1) Should I buy a certain type of litter, or use bedding or so on....

2) Any tips on potty-training a hamster?

3) Is the outhouse even worth it?

Bedding doesn't matter.

Just clean everything and then replace with new bedding, but keep some soiled potty bedding and place that in the outhouse. The only place that should then smell of pee is the outhouse, and that is where the ham should go. Or so is the theory!

I bought my hammies one of those hoping that they would use it and la de da they only use it for sleeping in..hehe oh well its cute anyways :)
