I dropped my sisters hamster about.. 4/3 feet. He was skittering around on the floor then when I picked him up he was really still so I put him in his cage and he ran into his nest. this was about 5 or so minutes ago and he's still in his bed. He'll be okay right?

Okay, so I just checked on his and he had moved to the other side of his house and poked his head out so i'm assuming he is okay and was just in shock..

( Didn't see your reply Pickles, sorry. Yes he seems fine, i'll keep checking on him to make sure

They should be OK at that distance, unless it's an old fragile hamster.

Good luck. Thanks for caring.

my old hamster was dropped like 5 times cause I was careless for her but that was the past. Right now my other hamsters are loving and liking me more as nikki did.

I just realized I have never dropped a hamster, and I handle about ten almost every night and have for years.

How can you drop a hamster??

A few times young hamsters jumped out of my hands, but I caught them on the fly. Gotta be quick! :D

I have only dropped one hamster and that was because he bit me when I wasn't paying attention. He was a mean lil' buger. LOL! Nah, he just needed to be handled everyday. Eventually, he only let me hold him (though he still would take a nibble from me). I actually have a scar from him and another from a female. Anyway, he was fine, even though that was what made him even meaner. It's a long story how he got mean in the first place, though.

Oh, LOL, I guess answering your question would help. Ya, just make sure he's alright and you should get him out and handle him on your bed so that he won't get mean like that one of mine did. Give him a couple sunflower seeds and check him over to see if he's sore anywhere or has a scratch or anything. It was on carpet, right? Make sure he's still eating and drinking and give him some more tissue paper for nesting for excercising where he fell (ya know, his muscles).

i held my hammy standing up once and she sort of pushed her way out of my hand, and fell but luckily she didnt fall on my wooden floor but on my soft bag, but she then tried to run into this little gap, but i caught just in time. i cried cause i thought it was my thought! :yell:

By the sound of the distance your hamster fell it should be all right. :) I dropped my hamster once while I was walking into my living because I tripped on something but after a day my hamster was fine a little shocked  but fine. :D

I agree, I think it was probably just temporary shock, but keep an eye on him overnight. I hope he's ok!

Oh god I just dropped my hamster too!!! I was coming in the room and the lights were off for some reason so I reached to turn them on, and Rupert leapt out of my hand. I tried to save him by catching him but ended up putting him into a spin and he landed on his back! I'm scared he's hurt, I'm pretty tall but I'd say he fell about the same distance (4.75 feet or so). I'm worried because he's an old geezer and has never been dropped before but he landed on cheap carpet and didn't even flinch. Hope he's ok, how can I make sure?

Just put him back in his cage, and see that he is moving around normally and eatting and drinking, if so he is fine :)
