gday my names belinda n im from australia
i was just curious as to how the horses differ from different parts of the world!

over here, most people around my age (14) ride english style. there arn't too many western riders, but alot of people who work or ride on farms use stock saddles and ride in a similar way to western to round up sheep etc.

The most common horses that people own are probably thoroughbreds, arabs and stock horses.

I personally at the moment have a registered purebred arabian by the name of El Akbar Zentula. He is from Crabbet lines. I just call him Tully.

So tell me about life over there!!

Hi,

I'm in England so I ride with English tack. Western is becoming increasingly popular over here now though.

Your Arabian looks very nice. Were you doing dressage at the show you are at in the photo? From the angle in the pic it looks like you are riding in a dressage saddle.

People here keep all sorts of different breeds. Most children ride native ponies such as the welsh, exmoor, dartmoor etc. Horses can be anything such as thoroughbreds, arabians, various warmbloods and Irish horses. Many of the horses and ponies kept in England are crossbred. I have an Irish Draft cross.

Kat.
