Allergies to ferrets are not common. They are really a hypoallergenic pet. I am allergic to rats, but not to ferrets or gerbils or hamsters. I know it is the rat itself, because when I held her, I broke out with welts all over my neck and arms. It could be the litter or the bedding you are using. If this is really the only reason that you are getting rid of her, you may want to change her bedding/litter and see if there is one you are not allergic to. Hope this helps... if not I hope she finds a good home :o)
