I believe a similar thread was created a few months ago, but I'd still be interested to see what 'dream horses' some people would like to own.
My dream horse would be a black Fell Pony stallion, with lots of feather, with maybe a small white star, and 14 hands. His disciplines would be English Pleasure, and hopefully he'd be trail ridden.

Hi, my dream horse would be a 16hh+ quarter horse, 100% boomproof in all ways. I would love a quarter horse because i live in the U.K and we don't get them here, or very rarely. If I couldn't have a quarter horse then I would like a 16hh+ throughbred, which is bombproof and is an all-rounder :)

Wow-quarter horses are really common here. As far as I know about Fell ponies, there's only about 5,000 in the world and there's only about 100 and something in America.

I've only seen 1 quarter horse in my life and that was at a western demo :) I don't know of anyone that has one either. Have you got a horse?

Have I got a horse? Oh, no- that won't happen for a very long time, as I live with my parents and we definitely cannot afford a horse right now.
A friesan? I've always liked those, as with Andalusians, but I really like the ponies with that 'stocky' build. I also like Arabians too Allyce, they're so beautiful but they have a reputation for being a little 'crazy'.. I've ridden an arabian stud before and he bucked alot, but I think was partly because he was a stallion.

My dream horse would be quarter horse gelding that was laid back and had the ability to jump up to 2 feet so I could trail ride and maybe do some cross country lite. I've long passed my competitive phase and just want a friend.
On that note I did "have" my perfect horse. He is a 5 year old 16hh black QH with a funny heart-shaped blaze named Lenny. Biggest rascal ever, was always getting into things and trying to run me into barrels to see if I was paying attention. Was terrible when I got him, had some minimal western pleasure training and was traumatized by the methods. after 6 months he could jump 2 feet and was very smooth and pretty in hunt seat and only needed a snaffle. Then his owners decided I wasn't paying them enough to train him and changed my lease terms without telling me, then yelled at me for not knowing they changed, so I had to quit riding him or risk killing his owners. Last I heard they stuck Western beginners on his back and he tossed them all off and is now a fat lawn ornament again.

My dream horse,
A proper Quarter Horse, meaning foundation bred. Nice and stocky, about 15 hh. Solid black, buckskin, grullo, liver chestnut or dun. Stallion. Trained to do reining and work cattle, and trail ride.

My dream horse would be a 15 h Shagya Arabian mare, almost pure white (which most Shagyas are, I love that breed). She would do English and trail riding.
I don't know too much about horses, I recently started taking lessons although I've loved horses longer than that. I'm pretty sure horse's average hights are 15 h, but I'm not sure about that, and definitely not sure if that's right for Shagyas. I don't have a horse, but I wish I did :( . I'll get one someday.

My dream horse would be either a Foundation Quarter Horse or an American Mustang. Either sorrel or bay. I really want a horse that I can take on any trail be it out west or in the Smokies and trust that he/she wont spook at boogeymen and dump me on the ground. I have an awsome horse now, she is one of my dream horses. She is a Percheron/Thoroughbred and we get along like best friends. She is awsome on trails..but only the local ones, she gets too nervous in new places..though once I get a trailer I plan to fix that soon!

I think 15 hh sounds about right. They're a type of Arab, but I think they tend to be a little bigger, so 15hh should work.
It's a common misconception that they are white, though. Nearly all 'white' horses you see are simply greys that are older and have lightened up a lot.

I know they're called greys, in fact when I was writing that I was wondering what to call it. I only decided on white to describe the exact color, but are you sure that it means they are older? I mean I've seen quite a few Shagya pics and they aren't all grey (real color, not horse), and some have to be young, right?

all white horse are called greys, there is no reason why, they just are.

Well, actually, there is an explaination for why they call them grey/white.
The way to to tell a grey horse from a white horse is: a white horse has pink skin and a grey has grey skin. And a white horse has no grey on its body whatsoever, but a grey can be completely white but if it has grey skin it's considered grey. I know, I'm being too technical, but I guess I'm just bored lol.
Its confusing though, because some horse are born black and grow up to be white. (Like Lippizaners).

yes i know that, but people don't say "my horse is white, people say "my horse is grey".

Well, not all Shagyas are grey.
I'll post something on the grey gene in a bit. Genetics are fun!

My dream horse  ... well where do I start?!? Well, he would be a dappled gray arabian gelding with a black mane, tail, muzzle and stockings. He would be very sweet, laid back, and loving and we would be the best of friends. :) We would do lots of beautiful trail rides together through the mountains and his disciplines would be hunt seat and western pleasure. We would do lots of shows. We would love each other! MAN I want this horse!!! :yell: But, we live in the city, my parents arent horse people, and our budget wouldn't allow it, so I guess I'll have to wait until I'm grown up! :p
