Yesterday I saw a dog chained to a tree(with a ft of slack) in the rain. There was no shelter and the dog was skinny. :(

I went to city hall and filed a report.Although at the moment our town has no animal control officer the dog was seized and is being cared for by a city worker.

The SPCA went to the house to check on the owners other pets but was unable to get any information or see the animals. The owners are very uncooperative and have made threats against people who have called about the pets before.

I fear this sweet dog will either be returned to its owners AGAIN or put to sleep because of lack of a home. The SPCA shelter is too full to take her.

I am getting ready to search for other places who might take her but hope maybe someone will see this who can help.

I'm not sure if she is a boxer/bull mastiff/mix.She is very sweet and has the saddest eyes. :(

I would take her but I am over my 3 pet limit and fear what my neighbors would do if I brought home yet another. :sorry:

She has obviously had puppies recently although they were not where we coul see them. There is also another dog there in the back yard who was grabbed and brought inside before it could be siezed too.

Any help would be appreciated.

While most municipalities have a dog # limit (ours is 3 as well) this usually doesn't include foster dogs. Suggest that you will foster the dog for the SPCA until space is available, or a new home is found.
Another suggestion is to contact Dogs Deserve Better. This group is dedicated to this exact kind of case. Where an owner leaves the animal outside, with no stimulation. They try to work with the owner to re-educate them on a dog's social needs. If the owner is unresponsive- the animal may enter a system of foster homes until a better, forever home is found. The area rep in Tulsa, OK is Jamee Suarez-Howard. Her email is jamee@mtstulsa.com

Good luck!

Thank you.:)

The SPCA office is out of the office so I haven't got an update from him.I was able to contact a rescue agency and give them the info about the dog.The worker who is holding the dog is going to keep her until next week when the rescue group can pick her up.:)

I'm still worried about the other dogs on the preoperty and hope the SPCA is going to help with them.At least go back and check on them

This sure isn't going like it does on Animal Cops.

A few days ago I spotted the dog that the owners had hidden away.I took a couple of pictures to document its living conditions.
