one of my gerbil's ear is bleeding. There is blood around his ear, and a bit in his ear. What does that mean? its not a Middle Ear Problem beacause he isn't tilting over to the side. I looked every to find out what it was. Im going to take him to the vet tomorrow, because today my dad and I have to go to my grandmothers when he gets home ti'll late at night.

Could it be an injury from another gerbil? or from something in the tank?

How about ear mites? any 'black' bits around or inside the ear? that could cause the gerbil to scratch at the ear and make it bleed.
Whatever it is, I hope your gerbils feeling better ASAP.
Good luck at the Vet's tomorrow.

No he's all alone in the tank:( I hope the vet says that it's nothing serious!

Just is a whipe off with a damp cloth, and if you see any sort of cut or scratch put some polysporen on it.
make sure it's just damp, you don't want any water to get inside his ear.

The bleeding seems to have stopped. It's less red now. It's just a tiny scab now. I searched the bathroom for polysporen, and then I asked my mom if she had, and she said no. I'm sure it was just a scratch when he was grooming himself, but I don't want to take the chance. Tomorrow the vet will give me proper medication, or whatever be the case... And Stompy will be all better!

Hopefully its overvigorous grooming
check the ear canal if you can ..are there any tiny 'lumps' (cysts.
see www.gerbils.co.uk and look under medical conditions

I brought him to the vet today, around 12 this morning, and the vet said it was just because he scratched his ear on either a play toy, or from grooming. He gave me some cream thing like polysporen, and now it seems that its going away.
Thanks for the help guys!

:) Yay!! Only one thing... my parents didnt want to bring him to the vet, They said mean things like "they are 20 dollars you can guy two more" Then I said why should the gerbil have to suffer? So I got my own money and then they said I could go... My parents confuse me... Thank GOD I have a job.

Yes, that makes it definetly difficult.
When i was 12 I broght my first hamster in a shoe box on the bus to have him put to sleep where his cancer took his quality of life. I had people tell me to do mean things to him, my mother wanted me to just put him up to the car exaust :( But after I payed my $15 and said my good bye's my mom was very proud of me. And she still talks about it today, many years later, on how responcible I was for all my pets.
To someone who doen't know the joy and love that comes from a pet, wether it be a gerbil or a dog, they just don't understand what they mean to us. And it's quite sad more people should enjoy the love of a pet nevermind learn the responcibilities that come with them.

You have some very lucky animals in your care :)

Aww thats such a sad story:(:( Well a few days ago, my gerbil was sick.. (i put it in a thread) and I couldn't bring him to the vet at that time because my mom can't drive, and my father wasn't home. I took care of him all by myself, he was cold, so I put him in a warm room and I held him by hand. I fed him by hand, and he couldn't stand, so I had to keep his body up while he was eating with my fingers. I gave him foods with lots of watcher in them (like cucumber) and now he is back to his old self again! Horray!
