Cichlid Spawn

Hamlet and Ophelia, my new convict cichlids, spawned!! I was peering very closely at the eggs, and I was shining a bright light on them, and I am 95% sure that there are black dots in the eggs!!! I am so happy. Ophelia is keeping everyone away from her cave. I discovered the eggs because I was pulling the cave out to move it. As soon as I noticed the eggs, I put the cave back down. Ophelia glared at me and went back to fanning the eggs. Since I didn't think they would spawn so quickly, i didn't even think that there would be eggs. I had moved the Cichlids into the 20g(big fish moving cycle), because I didn't want to take Rosalind(my 2nd female) away, in case they decided to accept her. The eggs were laid between Friday night and Sunday night. When will the eggs hatch, and how do i care for them?? :bouncy: :cheer2: :D

my convicts have spawned once a month since the first spawn when I first got them

Mine haven't spawned yet either...they are supposed to be "water rabbits"...they are still young though, we'll see if anything happens later.

You don't need to seperate the babies from the parents...Convicts are great parents that will take good care of there babies!!
