I just got my Hedgehog today and I brought him home he looked

around and then he just burrowed under his food dish and won't

do anything else and i moved some shavings near him and i think

he hissed a little. But at the store he was nice and he let me pet

him. Whats wrong can someone plz tell me. :bawling:

Don't worry yet! I used to have 3 hedgehogs and they were all like that at first. They are shy creatures and take some time to get used to you. My hogs absolutely loved mealworms, so I would put a plate full of mealworms in front of the hogs and they would uncurl to eat. I would just sit there quietly and pet them while they ate...they were so busy they didn't notice. I did use gloves when handling my hogs because when they get scared they curl up and jump and it's easy to get pricked. Give your hog time and you'll become friends!
