Bloody Teeth

I gave my hamster some paper towels to play with and she put one in her mouth and brought it to her house and i noticed when she took it out of her mouth there was blood on it. I am worried what could this be? Should I take her to a vet? Scared!

Hey, i think you better take your hamster to the vet even though it will be expensive. She must have bit too hard on the towel that her teeth or maybe gums got hurt.
Take her to the vet asap. You would not want your hamster to die, don't you? So better get her treated early. This the advice i can give you Katie.

It could be anything, but when blood is in a hamsters mouth reguardless of what it may be, get her to a vet immediately!

My hamsters name is Rose... but also I call her Rosebud and also i call her Piggy Pie because she's a big fat lazy hamster. She is soo long! Probably like 6 or 7 inches. shes a big girl and i love her!

Good that you love her. I love my hamster too! Too bits!!!! Does your hamster come to you whenever you call her the different names? I call my hamster, Berain, cutiepie and baby . She comes even when i call her any of that. It is sooo lovely.

How is she doing pekastare?

My hamster ended up dying but I brought her to the doctors. I always bring them to the vet and spend a fortune on the little babies. My hamsters name was Rosie because she was a little pinkish when she was a baby. I forgot she had that mouth problem actually. She ended up having a stomach issue that never got better even with help from the vet but she lived for a few months with it and then died in october of 2005. then i got a new hamster Amelia and she was my little sweet apple so friendly and mischeivous. She was very healthy veryyy healthy i thought she would live forever but then one day she got sick and within hours she was dead. I brought her to the vet too. There wasnt anything they could do but they did take her footprints for me in some plaster material and so i have them hanging up on my wall. I want to get a new hamster but I might be moving back up north so i think i will wait to do that. hope you all are having fun with your loved animals. take care
