Hi all, I am looking for the Native American story of the First Dog. I had it at one time, but I lost it when I moved. I'm wondering if someone can email it to me or post it here so I can copy it. It goes something like, the Wolf mother had a litter, it was winter and cold, she knew she would never survive with them and she saw first woman and first man with first child by a fire. She took one of her pups to the fire and offered him to First man to watch over first child for the rest of her generations. In exchange they promised to feed and care for first dog and keep him warm. As long as man was good to first dog there would be peace, but if man mistreated dog, there would be sorrow and war among his people until all dogs were treated with love and kindness again. It made me cry the first time I read it, and I would so like to have it again. Has anyone ever heard it before? know where I can find it? Thanks much
