I've started letting Jeremy out for a play on the bed every evening and it seems to like the freedom but when i put him back in his cage he goes a bit wappy! he rubs himself against the end of his tubes like he's scenting and then he grooms himself for ages and seems to stare into space! i've also seen him lie down in a funny position on the floor of his cage - not sleeping but just lying flat. I try to give him treats but he ignores them while he's in this mood - which is very unusual for him!.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

I'd say it is not really anything. If he sleeps on his belly that means he is one happy hammy! If not it is just the way he sleeps. I've heard about hamsters that like freedom more than others. You and Jeremy will soon get used to it. Make sure to let him run in his ball!

bit odd that.
mine occasionally has a kind of 'play dead' few minutes in my hands after ( i think) he's heard a noise which he doesn't recognise/freaks him out, when he will ignore his favourite treats being waved in front of his nose. I think he's sometimes also like it when he's got a bit overexcited, so maybe it's that.
I think in general if they're eating, drinking, and pooing ok there's nothing to worry about. every hamster has individual weird stuff....

My hamsters do that too...no clue why though.
