 ok well earlier i was talking to one of my friends and we were talking about hamsters and she told me that her sister had a hamster before and the petstore said it was a male, but alittle while after she got it, it had babies and she was cleaning out the hamster cage since she kept them and when she moved the old bedding she found a shriveled up baby hamster head! i know disgusting :( , the mother hamster had eaten its baby...is this true that the mother hamster would do that if the baby is sick? or was my friend doing it just to spite me?
Please give me your opinion and information.

Its very true animallovers. If it was sick or weak, or if it was going to die, the mother would leave it and move the litter somewhere else, sometimes. Sometimes a mom just leaves it or she may eat it...It all depends.

The mother may have been really nervous or scared as well.
