A long time ago, (about 7 years) I bought my husband a sweet little yellow Lovebird with a cute red head, he named her Sunshine. Well, about 2 years later, Sunshine was stolen by a Psychotic Roommate, and we have since, never had (and will not) have a roommate again.

We live in Alaska, and have decided that we are ready to let another bird into our lives.

However...

We do NOT want to buy from a pet-store. The birds there are practically WILD, and we would like to find one that is already tame and easy to handle. We would prefer to find one that is used to being handled. We have a 1-year old, 1 dog, and 2 Ferrets. Our little boy is VERY gentle with animals. He never touches, and only looks and laughs. Our dog is NOT agressive towards ANYTHING. She plays peacefully with our fetrrets, and when we had mice, she would let them crawl all over her.... :)

If anyone knows of anyone looking to find a bird (in the Parrot family) a loving, caring, safe, and long-term home, please let us know...
PS. We live in Anchorage.....

Thanks for taking the time to read...

Well, it was tough, the girl was Psycho. Literally. She poured bleach into our plants, and our fish-tank.
:)
What am I looking for.... Hmmmm...
:)
Size... Lovebird size, could go a bit bigger, or a bit smaller. (Like a Cockatiel) (What we'd really like, is to get another tame lovebird, like Sunshine, but our minds are open to any loving bird in need of a home)
Loudness... Not too loud.
Temperament... Humorous, laid back, people-bird, NOT a loud Squaker, nice, tame, adventurous, willing to learn/please, likes to be handled, kissed, petted.... etc...
I guess we are just looking for an all around nice little bird, that will not try to rip your skin off when you go to take it out of it's cage... LoL We would like ot be able to take it outside with us in the summers, etc.
