My sister has a dwarf hamster who she says has been producing very green droppings. She found one on his fur the other day and is very worried. What could have caused this? Should he be taken to the vet?
Thanks for any replies. :)

We have had a lot of green poo threads lately.
One oif mine had them, and it looked like green paint, and it was not even dark green. it must have been the diet, as he is fine.
Maybe someone else knows for sure.

My hamster has dark green poops all the time, which exposed to the air long enough they go brown, light green poops could be the fact too much treats and veggies are present, so just stick to the normaly hamster food and lots of fresh water.

we have the same problem with our mice from time to time.. usually stems from food coloring or dyes in their food or treats.. we've seen blue, orange and yellow poo too.. a bit shocking at first..

Yep, my mice have been getting it lately due to the green dye in their treats. Nothing to worrie about as long as you know what is causing the color change!

I would say it is most likely the treats that is causing the discolored poo.
