Hey,
I can't remember if I asked this before but oh well!
Are Sugar Gliders good with Cats and Dogs? because I have 2 cats and 2 Dogs! I really want a Sugar Glider!

just like with any new animal you bring home you will have to introduce them slowly. The glider will probably be fine with your other pets, but your cats and dogs might think of him as a snack so take precaution.

Honestly, if it were me, I wouldn't let them play together at all. They may be fine together, but both cats and dogs have prey instincts and it's not likely a glider would survive a run-in with either of them. :)

I wouldn't let them play together! I would be with the glider the whole time it is out of its cage! :)

My dogs do very well with my gliders but you really have to know your dog and even then you can't leave your glider with your dog in the same room you have to be there all the time. And a cat I would think is a BIG NO NO :scared:

I would not even try and introduce them. If you get a pair of gliders I would keep them in a seperate room then your dogs and cats.

It seems to be the other way around at my house :p Apparently poor Cleo just wants to be friends but Buddy seems to have something else in mind. She's gotten hissed at and claws swiped at her through the cage. But I don't know...as long as all the playtime is supervised, I think everything should be ok!

Even if you are "closely" supervising a playtime, a human is not fast enough to stop a cat from biting or scratching something "playing" with it. Especially with the size difference in a SG and a cat or dog, a "small" swipe can still end your glider's life.

when i first brought my 2 sugies home my cats thought they were a new toy for them! My dogs didnt seem to mind the gliders though, but now the cats dont pay any attention to the gliders but i would not leave the cats and dogs in the same room as the gliders alone just to be on the safe side, I have had my gliders for 4 months now and every time my gliders are out the dogs get locked up and I make sure i know where my lazy kitties are and they get locked up as well
