Hey,
Well, i only have one horse left now but i'll probably add a couple of pictures of some ones that i no longer have! :)
The horse i have at the moment is my baby Charlie :) He's 12 years old now and i've had him since he was 3! He's a Connemara X Thoroughbred who i bought from Ireland. We've been quite successful showjumping and Eventing though now, with me being at University and not having as much time, he's in semi-retirement!
Anyway, here's Charlie:

I guess i'll add a bit about some other horses i've had. I think ive had about 10 horses and ponies so far!! Probably my two favourites were Max and Lady. They had been together for about 10 years and were inseperable. I bought Max from the person who'd had them both, and then a year later i loaned Lady from her. Lady died of a brain tumour after me only having her a year :( She was 26 years old..
Here's a couple of pictures of Lady:

And here's Max - He died a couple of years after Lady from Cancer :(
(Oh and yes, that is me on him! lol!!)

Jessica, I love your horses. They're absolutely beautiful. Sorry to hear about the two that passed away w/cancer. That must have been extremely hard on the horses as well as yourself.
Take care.

Hey Jessica, nice to see another university horse lover on here! I have a beautiful TB at home with my parents on the farm, but I'm at school and can only fit the bunnies in my apartment! :)
Charlie looks like a real cutie! I did a lot of eventing on my boy too, although with tuition I haven't been able to afford entry fees since starting university. But hey, it's still fun!
I'll try to get some pictures of my kids up soon.

Runner - I think it was very hard on Max when Lady died, he wasn't the same after, they'd be together so long though its not suprising :(
MangoLaska - I know what you mean about the tuition fees stopping you from competing!! I can just about afford to feed and shoe Charlie but theres no way i could afford to compete him whilst at uni... A semester's books alone cost about the same as 3 months worth of entry fees!!! Its so annoying.. When im done with uni i'll probably start jumping him again though, just not over quite such big fences i think, Charlie's an old man now! :D lol

Charlie's not an old man! He's still a respectable age, you've got some good years in him, especially with the Connemara blood. I've always admired Connemaras, but it's hard to find them in North America. My TB (Bailey) sprained his stifle when he was 14, and was off work for 9 months, and still recovered and was jumping reasonably big things until he was 16. Then I went away to school, but I think that he could have kept it up for another year even if I hadn't. Now he's almost 19, and he still thinks that he's hot stuff, but I can see the signs of age starting. Probably no more than the little fences found during trail rides for us. I'll admit that this last school year I've even pulled his shoes, because he's not doing enough work to make them worthwhile.
But as soon as I'm out of school and have the cash, I'm definitely going to buy a baby, and Bailey and I can train him, and then I'll have an eventing horse again. :p

lol! Lady was 26 and still jumping - Admittedly not as big as she had done when she was younger but she would often jump 3ft6+
I dont think i'd do anything too big on Charlie again. He has some problems due to a fall he had several years ago. He fractured his spine, twisted his pelvis and broke his stifle... And i broke my thumb!! :( lol He's ok now but has to have physio every few months and i wouldn't risk hurting his back again!
I will definately be doing the eventing again on him though!! He loves Cross country and will jump anything so he's pretty much perfect for it! :D
Bailey sounds lovely! Do you have any pictures on here of him?

That's too bad about Charlie's back! He looks and sounds like such a great horse. But I bet that he's still fun at the lower levels, he looks like he's such a kind horse from his picture.
I don't really have time to get pictures of Bailey up tonight because I have a midterm tomorrow ( :irked: ) but I'll try to get some up soon! There used to be some, but I deleted them from the server so I'll need to re-upload them.

Hmmm... i cant get the link to work to see the Bailey pics!! :(
And Charlie is a very kind horse, as long as he's not near children as he hates them!lol But he's very sweet natured with me and a lovely horse to ride :)
southsidebudgie - i've never heard of polocrosse! What is it? Is it anything like 'horse ball'? I remember when i was in Pony Club years ago thats what everyone was playing!! I've always prefered the jumping though and the ponies i had were a bit too wild to do something like that on!!!lol

I haven't heared of pony ball. Polocrosse is lacrosse and polo mixed together. It is played with nets which look kinda like bit fishing nets but with a leather handle. It is played with a bouncy ball about the size of a polo ball. There are 3 people on each team a forward, Defence and midfield. There are goals into which the forwards bust throw the ball. It sounds complicated but its not. U could look at a internet search and it discribes itbetter than i did!!! :p

Hey, your connemarra X is adorable. I learned how to jump on a little connie. Sure she was too small for me, but I sure learned a lot.
So sorry to hear about the loss of your other babies.
