My sis goes to college too, excecpt after a year you can move out of the dorms. But so far, she hasn't gotten any pets. Even in the dorms she didn't keep a fish even though she could have. She's not really a fish person lol...But her roomates do have rats....Anywyas, I think bettas are beautiful. I used to own one, but he's died now. I named him Prince, becuase he was a royal blue color..very pretty... Some people aren't fish people, becuase they like animals they can play around with, but if your a person who loves to keep fish, and have gorgouse tanks with with gorgouse fish to match, then I say, good luck! And great! I'm neutral to fish and animals you can pet alike. Becuase I mean, though you can handle hermet crabs, you can't really pet them, and I still adore them. So same goes with fish lol. Well alls I can say is that I'm terribly sorry about the death of your fishy, and good luck with your current bettas, and may you remember them forever, even after tehir gone.

Are you sure Roland is a male? I had males for many years, but they have all passed on, and I now have six females and that is the same fin structure that my females have. I have never seen a male with fin structure like that.

Hi,

Thanks everyone :)

JiffyKat - Roland is male - He's a plakat which is the short finned type of betta found in the wild and also the ones used for fighting. But it can be hard to tell the males and females apart!! If u put a male plakat and female next to each other you can see the difference though, Males have chunkier bodies and longer fins. Also Roland will kill anything put in the tank with him! :D
