I saw sugar gliders once in a petstore and as soon as I have the means I intend to get a pair but one thing Ive been trying to find out that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere is if they smell and how clean they are. what is their poop like? is it little pellets like a rodent or...something else? how often does their cage need to be cleaned?

They will smell if their cage isnt kept clean. I change the bedding and wipe down the bars with a baby wipe daily and then scrub the cage bi-weekly. They will keep themselves very clean-they don't need baths. The boys (if not neutered) are the stinkiest. They're poop looks like degu poop (I noticed you have one) but its squishy (sort of) and smells much worse, and it smears easily (great details, I know) The boys have a musky sort of smell, that's how they mark their territory. Their pee is kind of sweet smelling, which doesn't sound that bad, but if you let it stay in the cage for more than a few days, it smells so bad!
