My hedehog is sleeping a lot. More than usual. I never see her play anymore. She is eating and pooping as usual, but she never plays alone in her pen. And when I take her out, she just sits there. She is only a little more than a year old. Any advice?

You should taker to a vet, she may be sick, especially if she is feeling grumpy!

Hedgehogs are nocturnal. so try getting her adreneline pumping by 'slowly but steadily' flipping her around :angel6:.

Mine likes it, so I wake her up at around 7:00 eastern [like it matters]:ghost:, but it makes her happy (kinda)

I hope my advice works:D

Flipping her around???? This sounds... um.... concerning... Maybe I am misunderstanding what you mean?

As far as the hedgehog being sleepy, does it get plenty of light during the day? Even though hedgehogs are nocturnal, it is important for them to have a natural daylight cycle, of about 12 hours light 12 dark or so. This can be "faked" by use of regular lighting, but make sure that the hedgehog does get light.
Secondly, is it kept warm? Ideal temp for hedgehogs seems to be 72-76 degrees. A too cold or too hot hedgehog can be drowsy, and both can cause health problems.
Third, does she get plenty of exercise? Does she have a wheel or get floor play time? Just like with humans, if a hedgehog doesn't get enough exercise, they get lazy and out of shape.

In order to get her a bit more perked up, I would recommend putting a couple of her favorite non-messy treats on the floor in a hedgehog proofed room (aka no small spots they can squeeze into, watch appliances and recliners especially) and let her wander around to find them. It may take her a time or two to catch on, but I bet she will figure out pretty quick. :)
