Hammy ill

Hello...I noticed last night my hammy has a swollen anus...anyone know why? He is still active and does not seem to be in any pain. I've looked at other sites with no real answer. Please help.

it sounds like it may be constipation...i found this information on google.

Constipation is normally caused by an intestine blockage from commercial fluffy bedding or insufficient drinking water, especially in younger hamsters. Other cases include lack of excersie, poor diet, pregnancy or dystocia. On rare occasions , there is the possibility of Hymenolepis tapeworms in the small intestine. Symptomes are swollen abdomen, which is frequently discolored and a bulging anus.
Immediate treatment by a Veterinarin is required!

please take him to the vet ASAP!
