I know they have done studies on hamsters among many other animals and injected them with strep throat. They had the same effects from it as humans, but I have never heard of a human passing it to their hamster. I will ask a few at work tonight, and get back to you.

I asked a few other nurses at work, and between us we all agreed, that streptococci can be passed to hamsters. We decided this due to the fact hamsters can catch colds from us, and that strep can be passed onto other mammels like cows, horses, and pigs.
