Hi, my name is Teena and I work at the Lake County Humane Society here in Ohio. We went out on a cruelty case a few months ago and had to take a few farm animals away from a man who was not treating them humanely. To make a long story short, we ended up with 3 pigs and a few days later 1 of them gave birth to 8 beautiful babies. We have been trying to place them, but haven't had any luck. We don't have the facilities to house them correctly but we are trying our best. Right now they are about 8 weeks old and are growing everyday. We are trying to socialize them as best as we can, but it's just not enough. We usually don't take in any farm animals. I was wondering if you can point us in the right direction on placing these pigs in the right home. We have adopted out 2 of them, but 1 came back already. We desperately need to get these guys a home. We did neuter all the males, but none of the vets that we have would spay the females. If you can send the word out to everyone and ask them to help us it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!! :)

WOW...I got a guinea pig from you (Lake Co. Humane Society) a couple years ago!!! (he's doing great btw). Are these pot bellies? I have a pot belly now that we are raising in the house. She is about 9 months old. Do you have them there or in another location? Let's see...if I remember right...you turn ob the road by Ponderosa ??? I highly doubt that hubby will get another piggy (the one we have...Princess Pork Chop...sleeps with us and I don't think another one will fit on the bed!) but, I will certainly talk to him about it. She is VERY jealous also...my dog can't come near me without her chasing it away, so I don't know if she would adjust to another one. We are located in Ashtabula County, but we have to go to Rainbow's Babies and Children's Hospital on Tuesday...if they are there, maybe we can stop and see them.... :D

Also, we have a friend that was looking for a pot belly after he saw ours. His son is allergic to dog/cat hair and he was told that usually pot bellies don't cause allergic reactions. Hubby is calling him right now to tell him about yours. I know if they got one it would have an excellent home!
