help with gerbil..

everybody is saying cedar and pine is not good for gerbils/rats/hamsters, ect.
so.. what is the best thing to get for them?

Or Corn Cob, it's less dusty.

But the Carefresh is definitely good too.

Yeah, I learned that the hard way. Before x-mas I was changing the critters litter & got some in my eye. It scratched my cornea. I had 2 go 2 the ER & everything.

so some advice for everyone. Be Careful Not To Get It In Your Eyes. It SUCKS!

Carefresh, Aspen and Corn Cob are excellent beddings.
Anything made from recyled paper is good to.

I use all three, out of 11 gerbils I have 2 Allergic to aspen and one to Carefresh. So far it seems no one has a gerbil allergic to Corn Cob the onyl disadvantage with it is they cannot make burrows.

I also use Aspen and corncob bedding for my baby who has pretty bad allergies.

It's impossible for a gerbil to be allergic to corncob. ;)

Pine and cedar contain phenols; I believe it's toxic to many animals.

would discoloration in a rat's tail have anything to do with the fact that i am using pine and cedar? (i am going to get new stuff tonight.)
