Cooki my hamster is so wonderful now that she wants to play, but i was wpndering would she get along wilth another hamster or is it totally dofferent with hamsters and people? Because i thought about getting her a buddy and then i stepped back and looked at it from a different anngle. is she just getting along with me and wont get along with any one or thing els? My sister kept saying you should get another one. Well i was thinking and i keep seeing them in those cages at petco or petsmart. But i dont want them to be seperated?! I want them to be together!! But i just got her used to me so it wouldn't be right now, but do you think she would do good with another hammy? She has only nipped me 2 not even bitten me and they were both my falt (bad me) acidents, first one smell of food on hands, other picked her up to fast.

Or will she not like me any more any she will get really mean? I dont want that. I dont want you gus to think i dont know any thing about this and after all the posts that we have had about sepperating hamsters. I do know what and what not to do. I just think she's so loney... And she may not be + i kind of want another one. But i reall want them to play. I should of got the one that was i the cage with her they were such buddys. Man oh man. I feel so bad now. :crybckets: But she is playing more and she weights for me to get her out at night. lol so i'll weight for your replys.
thank you

syrian hamsters are solitary animals, remember that.

If she is a syrian then i wouldn't get another one. You don't want to put this hamster or a new hamster in harms way.
But if she is a dwarf then you could try it.

they are right syrians dont like company. I learned this when I had a syrian and a dwarf hamster together when they were first bought. I had to seperate them after about a week together. Even though I have a dwarf hammie I still havent and dont ever plan on getting her a friend. Its a risk I am not willing to take. If your hammie is a ddwarf he/she can still live a happy life with a friend, just buy her toys and treats.
