I went to Petsmart today and they had one gerbil. Just one and she looked so depressed. I didn't buy her because after what happend with Hermione and Hedwig I want to get the cage thing all figured out, because obviously they can't live together anymore. Me and my friend are planning on going back tomorrow to get her and a Black Bear Syrian hamster. I am going to clean a few cages tonight and re-arange so it will work out. I am thinking of putting the new girl with Hedwig (in a split cage) and having Hermione by herself (she is usually the aggressor, attacking Hedwig.) I think if it had been up to Hedwig, they would be living together by now, but whenever I put them together, Hedwig would be sniffing Hermione adn looking like she was going to groom her and Hermione would tweak and attack Hedwig. So I am going back tomorrow to by the lone, depressed gerbil, it was so sad, she layed down and had her head on her front paws. I was going to buy her right then, but I needed to make sure that I had the cage thing figured out.

Sounds good. I am always ready to rescue a lonely gerbil. Use the split screen for 3-4 days moving the gerbs from side to side 2-3 times a day. It always worked for me.
Good luck, and good job. :)

I am supposedly at class right now and then we are going to Petsmart, to get Lily, as I have already named her and a Syrian, because my friend thinks they are adorable, and it will help out with the syrians because they have them all in groups of two or three, so they will be able to space them better. Because they wil be able to put on in the empty gerbil spot now and hopefully slim my getting one will leave them mostly one in a cage.

Well, Lily, is here now. She is still by herself, because I want to give Hedwig some time to heal before I try to get her with a new gerbie again. But she can see other gerbies and hear them from her cage, she perked right up when she realized she had next-cage neighbors and could see other gerbies.

I am thinking in a week or two I will probably start split caging them, that way Hedwig should be mostly healed up and probably a little less apprehensive about being around a new gerbil.

That reminds me of what I just found at my local Petco, Jiffykat. They had a lot of lovely little sad critters for adoption, which is kind of rare. They had a tiny little female Golden Agouti, and I mean tiny. I wanted her oh so badly. She was all alone in a 10 gallon tank with a plastic home which she of course had chewed on. They only problem was they didn't have any other females for me to purchase for her a cage mate. And sadly I refuse to buy from my two local petshops because of lack of care and the woman in one of them hatefully sold me a brother and sister together when I wanted two little females or two little boys. If she hasn't found a home in a week (when I get paied again)I am going back up there to get her.

Any pictures of the new gerbie? I love pictures :DNot yet, I should take some soon though. I got a pet play pen for them, it would be way easier to take pics of them in that. I will have to do that soon.
