We at ABR's Paws-n-Claws Animal Rescue have a sweet 10 year old female border collie (Although she does look like she has a bit of Aussie in her) that needs a great home. Her name is Bear.
Her past owners told us that she is infact already fixed and shot up to date, although she doesnt have any papers on that.
Being an elderly dog...she isn't very strong in her back legs, and she can't "sit up" anymore. You'll have to speak up when you call her name because she can't hear too sharply. She also knaws at her fur and pulls patches out. She also has a hot spot. Whoever adopts her will HAVE TO take her to get a shorter haircut and meds as she will need being as old as she is. So the adopter's funds MUST be able to cover all of this for her.
She LOVES to go for walks and just being outside is a thrill to her. She knows the comands: Sit, Stay, Laydown, and Shake. And of corse, No, and Come.
She is good with Cats and non-energetic type dogs. She WILL snap at a playful dog that pounces on her. But she will never hurt them as we have seen here.
We do ask to keep her name as she has aparently known it for 10 years of her live.
Bear is the perfect pet for one person that she can connect with. If you are elderly with the means to take care of an elderly dog....she is perfect!
