At first I wanted a mouse since I like the looks of them more, but I am now starting to think of getting a hamster. Do any of you have any advice on which one I should get? Also which is easier to breed?

well i like the mouse because I thought they were almost like a mini rat and I used to have a rat, but now I am looking for something smaller. Since I am almost new to this because I had the rat a long time ago, I heard that hamsters were very good for beginners. What do you think?

well syrian hamsters are bigger than mice, much bigger....dwarf hamsters are about the size of mice....but hamsters are harder to tame than mice, especially dwarfs in my opinion

Mice are social. Keep them in groups.
Syrians have to be kept alone.
Dwarfs CAN live alone and can live in groups IF they know each other. Introductions are very hard to do.
I have 11 Syrians, 14 mice, and 14 dwarfs. So they all have their separate appeal.

Mice are generally more friendly than hamsters.
Syrian hamsters (the most common kind out there) must be kept alone.
Male mice must be kept alone.
Female mice can be kept in same sex groups and should be as they are social animals.

in my opinion i would say a hamster, but that's prob. beause i have one, lol. But ya i would say a hammie. If you spend alot of time with them they become more tame, i dont know about Mice.. but i've been spending alot of time outside of my hamsters cage. And now we're best of friends. so it's just up to you.. good luck :)
