Starts making a big nest.

Nipples may get bigger near time of litter.

Stops using wheel.

Looks bigger.

And I sincerely hope you are NOT breeding.

Sometimes they do not begin to look bigger until a couple of days before they deliver. Mine used her wheel continuously when she was pregnant. I guess each one is different. She will begin to build a nest, sometimes just a couple of days prior. The one thing I noticed about my hammy was that she was very aggressive when she was pregnant. She was usually fairly nice, but both times she got pregnant, if I even walked in the room, she acted like she wanted to chew through the cage to bite my head off. Once she had them, she was the same sweet hammy I had always had.
