One of my female dwarf hamster attacks my hand whenever i put it in the cage its wierd she never did that before. i recently moved her to a 10 gallon to seperate her from the other females babies. Can that be the problem. Its kinda funny she just runs up and bites my hand and never lets go.

The same exact thing happend to me. I had two hamsters and one had babies and i had to seperate them but the other one runs up and bites you. She is just territorial so once you get her out of the cage she wont bite. i suggest using your knuckle to distract her by letting her bite it because it doesnt hurt as bad then grab her with the other hand.

It's definately a territory thing, but if your hands smell like food to them they will bite. But most of the time it's because your hand is in their territory. Once you get them out of the cage they calm down.

A few peices of food e.g treats normally calm down my hammie!

My little dwarf hammie Muffin bites all the time...he is about 2 months old and has always tried to bite...Even when i do get him out of his cage...I also use the knuckle technique it works if u dont want a hard nip :)
