"I have 19 baby rats who I need to find homes for. Last month, a mom, dad, and babies were abandoned at the pet store where I work. They looked to be a little under two weeks old when I got them, so they were probably born March 14 or 15. Unfortunately, since the original owner never bothered to seperate the mom and dad, she gave birth to another litter on April 11.
In the first litter, there are 3 girls and 4 boys. All are friendly, healthy, and playful. They are available for adoption now.
In the second litter, there are 5 girls and 7 boys. Their mom is very protective, but I've been holding them for short periods since the day after they were born, to socialize them. They will be available for adoption on May 9.
They are all housed on Carefresh and Aspen bedding, and males and females were seperated when they were almost 4 weeks old. Their main diet is Mazuri lab blocks. With that, they get some Oxbow Regal Rat and Wellness Lite dog food. The mom is getting Nutro puppy food instead of the Wellness Lite. Most days I also give them Total cereal, and every few days they get mixed veggies, and sometimes mealworms.
All of them are pink-eyed white, and very cute :)

I would like to find homes for as many as possible. With 19 babies, I won't be able to give each one the love and attention they deserve.
Because rats are so social, I require that two or more be adopted together unless you already have rats who you plan on keeping the new one with. I am asking a $5 adoption fee to help ensure that they go to good homes. The adoption fee will be waived if I can bring the rats to your home and see that you have other well-cared for rats.
I am in the Detroit, MI area, but can drive a few hours to meet someone. I am also trying to arrange transportation to PA, so even if you're a few states away it might be possible.
Please contact me if you or anyone you know is interested in adopting these cuties. You can email me at SurgeAssie@aol.com, or call me at 586-255-1956. Thanks!"
