Where in New York? Im on Long Island and i Volunteer at a shelter. If your near here lemme know, we have some great cats who are in dire need of homes.

WEll, I am upstate NY, albany. A little ways from Long Island.... I know many shelters are up here as well, but most want 80.00 to adopt a pet from there. And well, cant really afford that at the moment. So anyway.... Thanks.

This is just something to think about, but if you end up getting a kitten, since you are low on cash, are you going to have to 60 bucks or so to take it to the vet for its shots? And then 100 dollars a few weeks later to get it fixed? Just something to think about. Maybe if you dont have the money right now, but you feel you may next year, you should get an adult cat who has all his shots and is already fixed. :)

Oh and most of that 80 dollar adoption fee goes towards getting a kitten fixed and his shots. So it may not be such a bad deal afterall.

I agree 100 % with kitten323. If you don't have the money to get one from the shelters,what happens to the kitten/cat when it needs to go to the vet?
