i was just putting her in her ball tonight and noticed her, well "rear" was all black and one of her eyes was shut, she isnt really drinking either and her tummy was fatter.. What do you guys think? shes 2yr 6months aswell

the best thing is to take her to a vet as soon as possible so you can know exactly whats wrong.

Went to check on her this morning and she was really bloated so got an emergency appointment at the vet, she was put down at 12.40pm.

I know, seemed to just be over like a day or 2 but apparantly was happening slowly over a few months.. Well the vet said their was a bug that made her woom swell up or something like that, she wasn't drinking either so was dehydrated, said she would maybe last the weekend so was better just to let her go now.

I know it's cliched but at least she's not suffering and I'm glad you took her to the vet, rather than a lot of people who think it's just a rodent and don't bother.

and hey from a fellow scottisher! how are the vets here for rodents? I've been looking for a decent one just in case :|

Well i've taken her to two vets before but the best one was in baljaffrey if your near there.

I am so sorry to hear that you lost your hammy. SOunds very much like cushings. Had she had any hairloss lately? She really had a good long life with you. I know you still miss her. *hugs*

Yeah, its like they become part of the family.. There was some hairloss, not a lot though.. Was weird though, ive never seen anything blow up as much as that overnight - the back half of her body was really swollen

im sorry for your loss i had a hammie like that with a woom infection its not nice i had a hammie wat lived for 6 yrs and they only supposed to live till they 3
