Im thinking of purchasing dwarf hamsters. What is the size difference between capbells and robovinsky (i know...my spelling is in poor shape)? Also, do all dwarf hamster like to be housed in pairs? What size cages would they need? Thanks so much ;)

www.hamsterific.com has good info.

yes dwarf hamsters are very social, and can live in same sex group. They need a fairly large cage, alot of people use bins. I have a 90qt sterilite bin that I use for my syrian.

also be very careful with dwarfs as they are very prone to diabtetes.

I don't know any size difference worth mentioning. They are all small! :D

Dwarfs are NOT all that social, as compared to gerbils. They do NOT have to live in groups. However, I have two groups of five and one of two, and they mostly get along as they are from the same litter, with their moms (separated by gender by now, of course).

Yes, try to avoid sweets such as raisins as they are more prone to diabetes than Syrians.

BTW, dwarf introductions are VERY difficult.
