ok so my hamsters are being weird. they have a home and something to sleep in, but the boy is putting the bedding into the wheel. and they sleep in the wheel instead the usual place. i cleaned out the wheel once and they just did it again. should i be worried? :(

I sincerely hope you have DWARF hamsters as if they are Syrians they may kill each other or breed (12 or more babies needing care). Syrian hamsters are SOLITARY animals.
I have never seen dwarfs do that, and I have 14. Maybe their sleeping house is too big; they like cozy little places where the ceiling is low, such as one of those igloo things you see in stores.

Maybe I misread the first post. It seemed to imply they were kept in GROUPS. So I hoped they were dwarfs.
Yes, mine have different sleeping patterns. Some love little hide boxes, other are more confident to sleep more in the open. One even loves to sleep in a small plastic strawberry.

you have the strawberry i have the pear thats so funny.. When i went to get my hammie she had a pear in her cage, i couldn't get that one, So i waited nd i got her one for christmas.. "we buy our pets presants for holidays!" So she got the pear. But she doesn't use it, the one that was with her in her tank before i got her she used all the time. http://www.petco.com/product_info.asp?familyid=10219&sku=4258379852&tab=6&dept_id=1616&c1=1604&c2=1615&c3=1616&ct1=Hamsters+%26+Gerbils&ct2=Toys+%26+Accessories&ct3=Accessories
Dont be woried, when i first brought her home, i put her cage together and put the bedding in and she whent down the tube and "SHE FELL ASLEEP" i thought she was dead. I felt so bad. But now she does it all the time, it's her safe spot. When i go into my room and she wakes up she whoop, slides into her tube and goes right back to sleep..., so dont worry
