My 6yrold cat has always practically lived in my bedrooom. HIS CHOICE. He's slept with me since he was a kitten, he'd choose to sleep in my room during the day and he used to even eat in my room.

I have 2 other cats, his brother and sister but they have never slept with me nor are allowed in my room. They don't sleep like him..they're pain in the asses.

I kind of had to kick him out for about 2 months because of gerbil issues. New litter, too many tanks everywhere, one split caged, my room is a mess. There has been a chance someone could get loose so of course I didn't want him in the room.

So he turned into a regular housecat even though he doesn't get along with the others. Also in the 2 motnhs, they've been having a lot of territorial issues. Both of them are pissing around the basement marking territory.(no its not health related) and they fight. A couple of times the other 2 have been in my room, but only for like 5 minutes when I leave my door open and they wander in..

Now its been another month or so and I've been trying to get thngs back to normal and have him sleep with me at night at least.. locking him in my room while the others eat since different diets/food issues. But as soon as I take him in and shut the door, he starts acting weird and howling. He runs under the bed and just sits there screaming and howling..... wtf? Eyes get wide and just a loud howl. Not a regular meow. I can't figure it out.. But there has been nights where he's slept with me, but he wants out as soon as I wake up which has never been normal. Door is open plenty of times and he just wont come in unless I'm eating somethng that smells really good to him. If that happens, then he also starts twacking and hissing the other 2 if they dare try and come in. He is still fine with my dogs, no problem there.

I wrote all that other stuff because I was wondering if there's any connection anywhere. I can't figure it out.

hmmm.... maybe the other cats have their smell in your room and hes just very pissed at you? lol, or maybe scared from it..

sounds like you need to make a vet appt. to get your cats fixed anyhow-that'll prolly take care of more than 90% of your problems

He probably is used to having more than your room to roam now. So now he feels trapped being locked in just your room. Also, with him hiding and howling, it probably smells more like other animals, be it cat, dogs, or gerbils and that freaks him out because he isn't familiar with their smells in that room.
