In the future...I hope

Sometime in the future (unless i become an actor) I will open a pet store. It won't be at least 5-7 years, but I'm just curious to know what needs to be done in order to open one (permits, lisences, locations, breeders etc). I want it to be a friendly one. One that only sells quality items. One that none of the animals are from back yard breeders or mills. I will never sell ceder or another harmful pet product. I belive that the only way to get people to not buy harmful products, is for a store to just not carry the harmful item. I will work with local shelters instead of selling dogs or cats. It will be like a Whole Foods or The Fresh Market for pets.

I would love to own my own petstore! Or at least work in some around me so I could possibly help all those sad animals out. I'm tired of it. I wish I had a local Petco, I would love to work there. My husband tells me I wouldn't, that I would hate the way they do things and I wouldn't be able to do much about it without getting fired, LOL. Your idea sounds wonderful.

I like the analogy (SP) of The Whole Foods of pet stores - that is good. :)

Maybe we could contact whole foods and get them to open stores called Whole Pets.
