i've been trying but all my pics are too big! they are really cute and kinda like big cocker spaniels, but they have vastly different personalities. my Diesel is only 6 months but he is almost 30 lbs already and should get up to around 40lbs and 15" at the shoulders. he is a beautiful chocolate/ liver brown with almond-shaped tan colored eyes.

he is definately for only those active enough to keep up with him. if he doesn't get out at least once a day he starts driving me crazy. and everything gets stuck in his fur, it's way soft. you can see some photos of him at www.dogster.com. just search under dogs named Diesel.

what is the history of this particular breed as neither the akc or the ckc recognizes it as a breed.

it is fairly new, and is really a mix between many spaniels and chesepeake bay retrever. essentially they were only bred for hunting but i believe they are ukc recognized.
