smelly hammies!!!

hi i noticed that my hamsters are getting very smelly

i clean them out regular so i know thats not the problem

i was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on what i can do

Is it the cage or the hamsters?

I mean you can try getting chinchilla sand and put it in a plsit box not verry deep "so they can get in and out" and it will take in some of the funk and can make the coat shiny and silky.. you can get the sand at petco or ptsmar for 5-6 dollars. just use half of a pack and i wouldn't eave the sand with the hammies because they may eat some of it so just let them run in it every day for a little while and it should help. :D

It sounds pretty normal

hamsters tend to be a lot smellier during the summer months as they are 'advertising' for a mate. Especially the girls... :boggled:

Can you get scented bedding where you are?
I can get Lemon (yellow) or lavender (purple) woodshaving bedding, that helps a LOT.. and my hammies seem to like the funky colours...
