What dieasese did that ladys hamster have that she died from?

Someone told me that this ladys hamster had given her a disease and she was an organ doner and 3 of the people that she gave organs to died also, and i was just wondering what was wrong with her hamster?

Wow, RangerRiff! That's sounds awful. Where did you hear about this? I don't know this story but yes, there are several infections that can pass from animals to humans. These diseases are called Zoonoses.

People at risk are babies/toddlers, seniors (80yrs.+), pregnant women and of course, people who are already sick with something else.

Best prevention for all animal owners: Always wash your hands after touching animals. Use an anti-bacterial soap for extra germ killing power.

Also, humans can transmit infections to hamsters, especially colds or stomach infections. If you are sick, don't handle your hamsters much until you are better and/or cover your nose and mouth so you don't breath germs onto them.
